The plot is located on the provincial road Kastania - Saidona and is 10 minutes from the sea and Stoupa and 15km, or 25 minutes from Kardamili by car. There is also another road below, a rural road. The plot is 2584,83sq.m. and has next to it a beautiful two-storey stone house with nice courtyards and very nice views. Similarly the upper plot is in an enviable position with panoramic views to the sea and the foothills of the Taygetos as the horizon is not blocked by anything.
Historic Facts:
Kastania is mentioned in history at least since 1278 when it was the hideout for several historical fugitives such as the Byzantine prince Crocodile Kladas, who after the fall of Constantinople launched the armed struggle against the Turks.
Later in 1803 - 1806 in the Tower of Captain Dourakis which has 5 floors at the entrance of the village, Th. Kolokotronis from the great persecution of thieves. Other attractions are the Byzantine church of St. Peter with its beautiful sculptural decoration and the hagiographies of the 13th century. Nearby is the shade of the large plane tree with the spring with its turquoise water. Kastania is the village with the most Byzantine churches in Mani, of which there are at least eight.
